The Yankees expect third baseman Alex Rodriguez(notes) to return to the lineup Sunday, according to the New York Daily News.
"When he's eligible to come off nfl throwback jerseys
(the DL)," manager Joe Girardi told the newspaper when asked when A-Rod would be back. "I don't think he'll go on a rehab, no."
The Daily News reported Rodriguez did some light running and hitting before Monday's game at Yankee Stadium.
Rodriguez has been on the disabled list since Aug. 21 because of Baltimore Ravens jersey
a calf strain. In his absence, the Yankees have gone 6-3.
Rodriguez is hitting .265 with 21 homers and 97 RBIs in 112 games this season.
