Thursday Notebook Returning Linemen to Rotate; Ware Limited

IRVING, Texas - While it looks like both Kyle Kosher and Marc Colombo will be back in action for Sunday's game with the Bears, it doesn't mean we won't see some of the backups as well.
Head coach Wade Phillips said on Thursday the nfl jerseys
Cowboys will likely rotate both guard Montréal Holland and tackle Alex Barron on occasion, mainly to give some rest to two players who haven't played in a month.
"Both of them practiced today and they weren't limited," Phillips said of Colombo and Kosher. "It looks good for them. But they wouldn't play the whole game I don't think. We would have to substitute for them for precautionary reasons because they haven't played a whole game in a while. We'll have the other guys to play. Hopefully, we'll have both groups to play."
Phillips wasn't specific in how the Cowboys might substitute the backup linemen, something that is rather unusual.
"You have to have a feel for the game," Phillips said in deciding when to rotate players.” When a guy has been injured, it's a different. But there still is a feel for it. We have to look at it, no matter how fresh they say they are, we do have to do it for them."
The head coach did recall that Doug Free played some at right tackle in Colombo's first game back from injury in last year's playoff game, although the lopsided second-half score might have played a factor in that decision.
Obviously, Phillips isn't too worried about playing Barron, who struggled last week with the three holding penalties. The head coach said he's liked the way Barron responded this week in practice.
Limited Return for Ware
Just like Phillips expected the day before, Demarks Ware was back on Minnesota Vikings jersey
the practice field Thursday, and despite being limited, all signs point toward him playing this week against the Bears.
Ware was held out for precautionary reasons on Wednesday, giving the All-Pro outside linebacker and extra day after he suffered a head and neck injury against the Redskins Sunday night. Ware said he would've returned to the game had the defense gone back on the field.
The Cowboys have always treated head and neck injuries with extra caution, especially considering Ware had the scary moment against the Chargers last season when he was carted off the field on a stretcher with his neck stabilized. Ware returned to action the next week in New Orleans, and earned NFC Defensive Player of the Week for his two-sack, two-forced fumble performance in the Cowboys' big upset.
Leon Williams Ready

The Cowboys' inside linebacker spent the 2009 season with the New York Sentinels of the United Football League while waiting for another NFL opportunity. Inactive in Week 1, the fourth-year veteran is preparing to play on multiple special teams units Sunday in place of injured rookie inside linebacker Sean Lee (hamstring).
"That's what I'm focused on because I know that could change the game," Williams said. "Coach Joe (Decimally), he tells me all the time to make sure that I'm up on everything and know that I can make an impact on special teams."
Head coach Wade Phillips said outside linebacker Brandon Williams also is a candidate to be active Sunday, but he's leaning toward Leon because he also plays Lee's position on defense. Phillips has said Lee likely won't play.
Rally Day
Saturday's walk-through practice at Cowboys Stadium will be open to the public as part of "Rally Days" that are new to the stadium this year.
