Broncos waive RB Brown with Maroney on board

Steelers jersey
The Broncos waived RB Andre Brown(notes) to make room for new RB Laurence Maroney(notes). Head coach Josh McDaniels, who has brought in several backs this year, announced the move Wednesday.
The Broncos traded a fourth-round pick in 2011 to New England for Maroney and nfl jerseys
a sixth-round pick in '11.
Brown was one of the Giants' final cuts in the preseason, and they could put in a claim to reacquire him. He orginally was a fourth-round pick of New York in 2009 but suffered a season-ending Achilles injury prior to his rookie season.
The way we see it
With the addition of Maroney, there was no room in a Pittsburgh Steelers jersey
crowded backfield for Brown. He has shown flashes and likely will be picked up by another team, if not his old team, the Giants.
Indianapolis Colts safety Bob Sanders(notes) is getting a second opinion on his injury suffered against the Houston Texans, which is reportedly a ruptured biceps tendon.
It was initially described as an elbow injury.
He's seeing Dr. James Andrews in Birmingham, Ala., today.
Meanwhile, another oft-injured player, wide receiver Anthony Gonzalez(notes), has been ruled out with a high ankle sprain.
The Denver Broncos brokered an injury settlement with veteran wide receiver Brandon Stokley(notes), removing him from injured reserve.
Stokley is now an unrestricted Minnesota Vikings jersey
free agent.
Meanwhile, the Broncos cut linebacker Worrell Williams(notes) from the practice squad and signed linebacker Titus Brown(notes) and defensive lineman Jeff Stehle(notes) to the practice squad.
