DAVIE, Fla. (AP)—Miami Dolphins inside linebacker Channing Crowder(notes) practiced Wednesday for the first time since Aug. 17, giving a boost to a defense that has allowed only 20 points in two games.

a groin injury, and it’s uncertain whether he’ll play Sunday against the New York Jets. But coach Tony Sparano said it was good to have the talkative linebacker back.
“The stretch lines were a little quiet for a while, and that changed today,” Sparano said. “It was good to see him run around out there and to get a chance to be involved, and it was good for Channing, too. There was good progress today.”
Rookie defensive end Jared Odrick(notes), who sat out Sunday’s game at Minnesota because of a hairline fracture in his right leg, did not practice but rode an exercise bike. Starting guard John Jerry(notes) was absent because of an illness.

Robiskie(notes) (hamstring) sat out practice Wednesday, according to the official injury report.
Harrison, the Browns' starting running back, leads the Browns with 85 rushing yards, while Robiskie, listed as a starter at wide receiver, has two catches for 18 yards this season.
Two players who have started both games this season — OLB Matt Roth(notes) (foot) and ORG Floyd Womack(notes) (knee) — were limited in practice. ILB D'Qwell Jackson(notes), who has started every game in which he has played but has missed the first two contests with a chest injury, was also limited.

would sit out Wednesday, indeed did not practice. ORG Shaun Lauvao (ankle), TE Evan Moore(notes) (head), CB Derrick Roberson(notes) (hip), NT Shaun Rogers(notes) (ankle, hip) and DE Robaire Smith(notes) (ankle) also didn't practice.
OLG Eric Steinbach(notes) (thigh) and OLT Joe Thomas(notes) (elbow) participated fully.
